Who We Are

Built by Moms, Dads, and Community Members

Parents for Payne County exists to protect children, support families, and lawfully pursue accountability through citizen-led action when systems fail to do so. We are not a political organization. We are parents, neighbors, and community members who believe something very simple.

Children deserve to be protected. Families deserve to be heard. And systems meant to serve the public must be accountable to the public.

Many of us have lived through situations where we trusted a system, a process, a person in authority, and that trust was broken. We showed up. We followed the rules. We asked for help. And instead of protection, we were met with silence, resistance, or decisions that nobody could make sense of.

That experience is what drives us. And we are committed to turning that pain into purpose.

Our Mission

We use our anger as fuel, not as a weapon. Fuel to build something better. Fuel to ask hard questions respectfully. Fuel to seek truth persistently and demand accountability.

Protect Children

Every child in Payne County deserves safety, protection, and a system that prioritizes their wellbeing above all else.

Demand Transparency

When trust is broken, the answer is never silence. We pursue transparency through lawful, constitutional means.

Support Families

Families deserve to be heard, not dismissed. We stand beside those who have been failed by the systems meant to help them.

Build Better Systems

Our goal is to leave behind a system where kids are safer, families are stronger, and communities are more connected.

"
Anger is not the enemy. It's the alarm bell that tells us the system is not working. Our child isn't being protected. Our family isn't being heard. That kind of anger is valid and it is necessary because if we didn't have it, we wouldn't know where to start to create change.

Taking Action

The Grand Jury Petition

Parents for Payne County has filed a grand jury petition. Not as an act of retaliation. Not as a political move. But as a lawful, constitutional pathway available to citizens when serious concerns deserve independent review.

Oklahoma law gives registered voters in any county the right to petition for a citizen grand jury when they believe public officials or systems have failed in their duties. This is democracy in action.

When trust is broken, the answer is never silence. The answer is transparency. An independent review is not about tearing anyone down. It is about making sure the gaps and breakdowns are identified so something stronger can grow in their place.

What a Grand Jury Can Do

  • Review evidence independently
  • Subpoena testimony
  • Determine next steps
  • Ensure independent oversight

A grand jury does not determine guilt. It ensures independent review.

Our Values

Grounded in Love, Driven by Purpose

Love Over Anger

We stay grounded in love for our kids, our communities, and a commitment to building systems that work better for everyone. If we let anger turn into hate and division, we risk becoming part of the very problems we are trying to solve.

Empathy and Grace

Life is not black and white. We give the same empathy, grace, and compassion for others that we often need for ourselves. This includes the good people doing their best in a complicated and broken system.

Lawful Action Only

Everything we do is lawful, transparent, and constitutional. We believe in the system enough to use it. The grand jury petition is proof that citizens have real tools to demand accountability.

The Long Game

We will not see the fruits of this work for years to come. But we commit to the long game of rebuilding trust because this is the work we leave behind for the next generation.

If We Don't Speak Up for These Kids

Who Will?

Together, we can be the voice, the watchdog, and the change our children deserve.
